Riccardo Muti leads a collection of Italian opera’s greatest masterpieces in this festive finale to the 2016/17 season. Enjoy some of the most well-known works by Giuseppe Verdi including “Va, Pensiero” from Nabucco and the famous Anvil Chorus from Il trovatore, along with the Prologue from Boito’s Mefistofele, which tells the story of Faust’s deal with the devil.
Please join us for a postconcert CD signing with Maestro Muti on Sunday, June 25, in Grainger Ballroom. This signing will feature the new CSO Resound release, Bruckner 9, in addition to Riccardo Muti’s complete CSO discography. This event is free and open to the public.
Note for the Newcomer: Zell Music Director Riccardo Muti is widely considered this generation's foremost Verdi interpreter. A longtime champion of Italian opera, Muti was Teatro alla Scala's music director from 1986 to 2005.
